About Me
I’m Layne—great to meet you!
I’ve loved reading, writing, and words my whole life and have 5+ years of varied teaching + tutoring experience, from guest lecturing for university English classes to working as an elementary school classroom aide to tutoring ESL professionals in business English, successfully helping them land jobs with multinational companies. I have master’s and bachelor’s degrees in English, am a published poet, and scored a perfect 800 on the SAT Reading and Writing section. I’m also an approved tutor for the Los Angeles United School District (LAUSD) and have undergone a background check and fingerprint submission for that purpose.
In my free time, I love playing flute and piano, taking walks, and hanging out with my spouse and our three cats.
