FAQs

What’s your policy for cancellations and rescheduling?

Students or their parent/guardian responsible for scheduling must cancel or reschedule a session more than 24 hours before the session start time to not incur a charge. Cancelling or rescheduling a session more than 24 hours before the start time can be done by the student or their parent/guardian responsible for scheduling via the link in your session confirmation email.

Cancellations less than 24 hours but more than 12 hours before the session start time will be charged half the price of the scheduled session to the saved payment method. Cancellations less than 12 hours before the session start time will be charged the full price of the scheduled session to the saved payment method. To cancel less than 24 hours before the session start time, email
virtuallyperfecttutoring@gmail.com. Cancellation time is based on when I receive a cancellation email to my inbox.

Rescheduling is not permitted less than 24 hours before a session start time, just the paid cancellation options above.

If you have a genuine emergency or extreme unforeseen circumstances, send me an email and I’ll do my best to work something out.

What devices can I use for sessions?

Students must access sessions via a laptop or desktop computer, or via a tablet with a separate keyboard and mouse.

Can students reach out on social media?

Social media contact is only permitted for current and potential students 18 and older on Benable, where my services are advertised, and on LinkedIn for professional reasons.

Do you have any rules for sessions?

I highly value creating a safe, respectful tutoring environment for both myself and my students, and I co-create that space with my students. To that end, words and actions that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender or sexual identity, ability, class, or faith are prohibited. Severe and/or repeated violations may lead to a discontinuation of services.

A note for parents seeking reading instruction for their children:

For children learning foundational reading skills, I tutor from a phonics-based foundation. I incorporate important concepts such as finding context clues and reading for subtext once students possess a baseline level of independent reading ability, but do not tutor using the three-cueing approach.
